Lasting contains several free-living Azotobacter species, and these bacteria use atmospheric nitrogen gas for cell protein synthesis. This cell protein is then mineralised in the soil after the deaths of Azotobacter cells, thereby contributing to the nitrogen availability of crop plants.
Lasting is used as a biofertiliser for all non-leguminous plants, especially rice, cotton, vegetables, etc. Azotobacter is an aerobic, soil-dwelling bacterium. They are aerobic bacteria and require high oxygen concentrations for them to function.
Azotobacter spp. is sensitive to acidic pH, high salts, and temperature. Azotobacter has beneficial effects on crop growth and yield through biosynthesis of biologically active substances, stimulation of rhizospheric microbes, and production of phytopathogenic inhibitors. Azotobacter modifies nutrient uptake, ultimately boosting biological nitrogen fixation.
We urgently need the best alternatives, as nitrogen-based chemical fertilisers harm soil health. Lasting is one of numerous soil fertility options. The presence of Azotobacter, a free-living N₂-fixer diazotroph, has positive impacts on crop development and production. Azotobacter transforms air nitrogen into plant-usable ammonia. Many ecosystems obtain nitrogen from this process, which maintains soil nitrogen. It increases organic residue mineralisation by increasing soil carbon, phosphorus, and sulphur. Some lasting Azotobacter species can transform insoluble phosphate and potassium into plant-absorbable molecules. Lasting generates extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) that agglomerate soil particles, increasing structure and water retention. Azotobacter produces auxins (indole acetic acid, or IAA), gibberellins, and cytokinins, which promote root development, branching, flowering, and fruiting. Lasting increases in chlorophyll content, total leaf count, and shoot height, hence, enhancing crop production.
It also stimulates rhizospheric microbes and protects plants from phytopathogens by producing antibiotics, antifungals, and siderophores (iron-chelating molecules) that inhibit the growth of plant pathogens like Fusarium and Rhizoctonia species. It aids bioremediation. EPS binds to heavy metals, including chromium and cadmium, decreasing plant uptake and bioremediating contaminated soils. Using it over time helps plants absorb more macronutrients (N, P) and micronutrients (Fe, Zn) and improves Staying can boost rhizosphere microorganisms. Durable assistance helps plants withstand drought and salinity. Azotobacter EPS helps cells stay hydrated in desiccating environments. Lasting as a biofertiliser has increased crop yields by 40% and improved quality parameters, including protein and carbohydrate content, in field testing.
Lasting is an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to chemical fertilisers that improves soil fertility and plant health and supports sustainable agriculture.
Application Method and Dosage:
Seed treatment – Mix 5 ml of Lasting with 50–100 ml of water for a small quantity of seeds; for treating seeds on 1 acre, mix 250 ml of Lasting with 1–5 L of water. Thoroughly mix the Lasting-water solution with the seed and shade-dry for one hour before sowing the treated seed.
Seedling treatment – Mix 50 ml of Lasting with one L of water for a small number of seedlings; for treating seedlings on one acre, mix 250 ml of Lasting with 1–5 L of water. Seedlings can be immersed in a Lasting-water solution for approximately 30 minutes before transplantation.
For soil application, combine 2.0 L of Lasting with 10 bags of BioMitra compost for each acre, and then spread this mix in the field either before planting or within 45 days after sowing in an existing crop, followed by watering the field.
Drip irrigation – Mix 5 ml of Lasting in 1 L of water or 1-2 L of Lasting per acre for each application. Apply the mixture by either drenching or dripping it onto moist soil, and repeat this treatment every 30 days to achieve optimal results.
During the crop cycle, administer 6–10 L per acre of Lasting to achieve optimal results and reduce the application of commercial nitrogen fertiliser by up to 50%.
Target Crops – The product is applicable for all non-leguminous crops, including cereals, vegetables, horticultural crops, medicinal plants, and ornamental plants.
